Tree Detectives

Class 3 enjoyed exploring the school's nature reserve yesterday. We wanted to find out what trees we had growing in our school grounds. We looked carefully at the shape and size of the leaves to find out the names of the trees. We were amazed to discover how many different trees there were.

Kites, kites, kites

PpClass 3 have been very busy making kites. First they had to learn all about the different parts of a kite. They learned about the shape of the sail and the need for a tail to give balance. They investigated the types of material that would make the best sails. Then they made prototypes.

They tried out their prototypes. Unfortunately the weather was against us!!

Finally they designed and made their kites. All we need now is the correct weather to fly them!
