Super Hero Dress Up Day

A very big 'thank  you' to all parents for sending the children to school dressed as their favourite Super Hero.

The children enjoyed collecting and using donated Fair Trade Fruits to make models of Super Heroes.
They also enjoyed tasting fruits fit for a Super Hero!

Finally we finished the day with a Super Hero Party.

Yr wythnos cymraeg

It's been a strange week with only half the class in. We've still been busy preparing for the Eisteddfod as well as planting leeks, picking leeks and making leek and potato soup. Everyone tasted some and nearly everyone loved it. Fantastic chopping skills too! The children worked hard making their daffodils out of clay. They practised their song and a poem and did very well in the Eisteddfod. Well done children! Da iawn plant! Ella came first in handwriting, with Oliver second and Bethany third. Melissa came first in Art, with Ffion second and Lashae third. All children who entered the poetry reading were amazing. Ffion came first, Lashae second and Melissa and Alex joint third.

This week in class 3

At last we got to perform our dragon dance that we did with Miss Stewart for Mrs Alford using the special dragon's head that we made with her. We also made Chinese lanterns with Miss Stewart and got glitter everywhere! Aron and Tristan practised number 9 and formed the number really well. Mrs Alford brought some frogspawn into school. They have been changing very quickly. Liddy, Melissa and Ella drew what they looked like on the first, second, third, fourth and fifth days of their time in school. Who knows how much they will have changed by Monday!

Discovering China

This week Class 3 have been having great fun experiencing Chinese New Year activities. They've made a dragon's head out of papier-mâché to use in their dragon dance. They made up their dragon dance with Miss Stewart and will be performing on Monday. In PE the children did a ribbon dance. They have been having a great time playing in the class Chinese restaurant cooking food in a wok and serving each other noodles and spring rolls. On Thursday they spent the day cooking and tasting new foods. In the morning they tried exotic fruits and made fruit kebabs. Later they chose what vegetables they wanted to add to their egg fried rice and helped to fry it in a wok. They were very adventurous and tried prawn crackers and cape gooseberries (Chinese lanterns) and most children loved them! It was a very Happy Chinese New Year in Class 3!
We will continue to explore more about China as part of the topic The Big Wide World throughout the term.

Fun things we have done this week.

We have been looking for birds in our bird hide outside. We have been making birds with Miss Stewart. We wrote acrostic poems on different birds. We made up a song to help us count up in tens.

We've been kind and caring to everyone.
