Children made symmetrical bats and pumpkins. They experimented with different textured cardboard tubes to create colourful fireworks. In free choice they made 2D shape pictures.

History Prize
Well done to Class 3 for winning a prize from the John Hopla History Society. The judges were very impressed with the local history work the children had done as part of their topic Community Explorers in the Autumn Term. Yesterday two members of the class attended the presentation at RCT's Civic Offices on behalf of everyone, to receive the award. Once again well done everybody.

Caerphilly Mountain Ranch
We had a fantastic trip to Caerphilly Mountain Ranch yesterday. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves. First they built dens in the woods. Then they toasted marshmallows on the campfire, (which they said were delicious)! After that they listened to the story 'The Gruffalo' and then they found him hiding in the woods. Next they all enjoyed their lunch and finally they had a lovely play in the Adventure Park. All the children were very well behaved, it was a pleasure taking them.

Mini-beast hunt
Class 3 enjoyed exploring our school grounds looking for any mini-beasts that may live here. They found a wide variety including ladybirds, spiders, wood lice and beetles!

Tree Detectives
Class 3 enjoyed exploring the school's nature reserve yesterday. We wanted to find out what trees we had growing in our school grounds. We looked carefully at the shape and size of the leaves to find out the names of the trees. We were amazed to discover how many different trees there were.
