To begin the day we went to techniquest to see the Selfish elf show where Santa showed use how to make lights work by joining hands to make the connection, burning methane made everyone jump as it popped when it ran out, Dylan built a snowman! Bethany and Alex made music using water and bottles and Mr Jones wore a big Rudolph nose!
After a run around techniquest we had food then went for a walk around the bay.
The children loved seeing the different statues and going to the park, but most of all they loved the ice cream at the end. Bubblegum was the favourite flavour, so there were lots of blue faces around! We'll done boys and girls for being so well behaved. It was a pleasure to take you on a trip. Merry Christmas everyone!

Remember Remember-our topic this half term
To begin with there was bonfire night and fire works so the children made Guys in class with Mrs Vowels. With me they made group collages of a fire. Later they drew chalk fire works which they labelled in welsh.
The children loved their trip to the Fire Station and learnt a lot as well as enjoying themselves. They loved trying on the helmets which still smelt of smoke from the emergency that the fire fighters had attended the previous night in LLandow. Jim, the boss, let them use a thermal imaging camera and the results were quite surprising. Very hot things come up as very white. The children stuck their tongues out for the camera and some were white and some not! When Jim put on the sirens and lights it was very loud, but the children loved it. The children were taught about fire safety and they learnt that if the smoke detectors in their houses didn't work the fire service would come and fit new ones for free. So give them a ring if yours is on the blink.
Following our trip the children wrote about it and typed it up on the computer choosing a photo from the trip to go with it. At the moment, the children are enjoying playing with the small world fire fighters we bought and have helped to make a fire station to play with them in.
This week we've been writing fire poems using powerful wow words that the children thought of.

Class 3 adopt a Snow Leopard
Thanks to all parents for supporting Class 3 in their attempt to raise money to help an endangered animal. Together we managed to raise £36 which was enough to adopt a Snow Leopard. The children have received a certificate and a toy from the WWF.
Teddy bears picnic fun!
All the boys and girls had a great time at the Teddy Bears Picnic. First of all they had a refreshing drink, a cake and a cup of fruit. Next they listened to the story We Are Going On a Bear Hunt. After that they enjoyed playing party games. Finally they went on a trim trail bear hunt which they thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks very much to the PTA for lovely afternoon.

Saving the Snow Leopards!
Class 3 have been really busy finding out about endangered animals. They had a class vote and decided to try to help save the snow leopard. To raise money they decided to each grow and sell a sunflower for £1. They have all written home asking if someone will buy their sunflower. The children hope to raise £1 each. We will send all the money raised to the World Wildlife Fund for snow leopards.

Looking After Our Teeth
We all enjoyed the visit from the dental health hygienist this week. All the boys and girls listened really well and asked interesting questions too! We all learned a lot about how to care for our teeth.
